About

Shoreham

Shoreham is small and spread out: a few hundred people, a handful of streets and a lot of green between the Western Port shoreline and the Red Hill ridge. It started life as Stony Creek, a landing for timber cut in the hills above, and has drawn artists and weekenders ever since.

Most of what's worth finding sits up the hill rather than on the main road: cellar doors tucked between paddocks, a monthly market under the trees, and the oldest traditional hedge maze in the country. Come for a morning and you'll likely stay the weekend.

Featured Spot

Shoreham Community Market

On the third Sunday of the month, September to May, the Shoreham Tennis Club Reserve fills with local produce, art, handmade goods, live music, yoga and plenty for the kids. It's run by a collective of local artists, set among the trees, free to enter and dog-friendly.

Wineries & Cellar Doors

Shoreham's cellar doors sit along the back roads between the Red Hill ridge and the coast. Some are small family vineyards, a few are bigger names, and most pour cool-climate pinot noir and chardonnay with long views over Western Port.

Make a Weekend of It

Beyond the cellar doors and the market, Shoreham rewards a proper look around — the country's oldest traditional hedge maze, artist studios tucked along the back roads, and walking tracks climbing into the Red Hill ridge. It's a town built for lingering, not ticking off.
