About
Balnarring
Including Balnarring Beach
Right at the southern tip of the peninsula, Cape Schanck is less a town than a meeting point of cliff, lighthouse and open ocean. It's remote, wind-scoured and completely unlike the bay side, and that's exactly the appeal.
The 1859 lighthouse, the boardwalk down to Pulpit Rock, two famous golf courses and the long coastal walk to Bushrangers Bay make it worth a full day, or a night at the resort if you can manage it.

From the monthly Emu Plains Market at the racecourse to live music nights at The Social Club, there's usually something on in Balnarring — check what's coming up before you visit.
Featured
the Village
Inland from the coast, Balnarring is really two places in one: a proper village at the crossroads, and a stretch of foreshore and beach a few minutes further south. Wineries, gourmet food stores and a monthly market give the village its own pull, while Balnarring Beach keeps things quieter with creek walks, a yacht club and three foreshore campgrounds.
Wineries & Cellar Doors
A real cluster of cellar doors sits just outside town, led by Quealy Winemakers and Marinda Park Vineyard — easy to spend an afternoon working through a few.
Restaurants & Cafes
Cafes and restaurants both inside the village and scattered along the surrounding roads — including The Social Club, known for regular live music nights.
Walks & Trails
On Foot Around Balnarring
Balnarring's got more walking country than the postcode lets on — a boardwalk through the wetlands, a quiet bush circuit, and a stretch of sand that doesn't stop at the town line.
Accommodation
Places to Stay
Balnarring keeps it low-key — a handful of stays in the village and the foreshore reserve's campgrounds, topped up with nearby options in Merricks, Somers and Shoreham when you want more choice.
Foreshore Camping
Fall Asleep To The Sound Of The Bay
Three campgrounds share the beach's 70-hectare foreshore reserve, a short walk from the sand and the village shops.
Foreshore
Balnarring Beach
Awarded Cleanest Beach in Victoria, with walking paths and footbridges over Merricks Creek and a track down Cliff Road to the sand. Racehorses train on the beach most mornings, and three campgrounds share the 70-hectare foreshore reserve.
