About
Fingal
Fingal is a small town with some very big names: two world-class hot springs, championship golf, a craft brewery in a former horse stable, and a wild surf beach, all within a few minutes of each other.
It sits at the southern end of the Peninsula, a short drive from the bay side, with a bit of everything for a day trip or a long weekend.
Featured Spot
Gunnamatta Beach
The Peninsula's wildest ocean beach: long, open and exposed, with Bass Strait swell rolling in and the Cape Schanck lighthouse on the horizon. It's primarily a surf beach, and the water here is rough.
Swimming is for confident swimmers only — the surf is strong, so check conditions before you go in. If you'd rather paddle somewhere gentler, the bay beaches are a short drive north.
Eat & Drink
St Andrews Beach Brewery pours its craft beers from a converted horse stable with a sun-drenched beer garden, The Cups Estate pairs its cellar door with Sicilian-inspired sharing plates among the vines and olive groves, and Thyme at Alba serves a seasonal all-day menu.
Things to Do
Soak at Peninsula Hot Springs or Alba, play a round at St Andrews Beach or Moonah Links, or take the family to Boneo Discovery Park — Fingal packs a lot into a few square kilometres.
Accommodation
From Alba's villa retreat and the resort at Moonah Links to cosy B&Bs among the gardens, Fingal has a good spread of places to stay, with more on offer in Rye and Cape Schanck.
