About
St Andrews Beach
St Andrews Beach is a quiet beach town on the wild south coast — windswept dunes, moonah trees and a long, empty stretch of Bass Strait ocean beach at the end of the road.
There isn't much here, and that's the appeal: a local cafe, a scatter of holiday houses and the beach, with Fingal's hot springs, golf and brewery just down the road.
Featured Spot
St Andrews Beach
A wild stretch of Bass Strait ocean beach inside Mornington Peninsula National Park, backed by dunes where Hooded Plovers nest. It's all part of one continuous beach running from Cape Schanck to Portsea, so you'll also see it called Rye Ocean Beach — same sand, different names. The surf is consistent and the fishing is good, but the beach isn't patrolled and the rips are strong, so swimming isn't recommended. Dogs aren't allowed in the national park.
Eat & Drink
St Andrews Kitchen
The town's cafe, an easy stop for coffee and something to eat before or after a day on the sand.
Accommodation
Stays here are mostly private holiday houses a short walk from the sand, with more to choose from in neighbouring Fingal and Rye.
