About the town
Cape Schanck
Dromana is a bayside town at the foot of Arthurs Seat, with a busy foreshore strip, a pier and calm beaches on one side, and mountain bike trails, gardens and vineyards in the hills behind.
It's the Peninsula's all-rounder: ride in the morning, wander the gardens or a cellar door by lunch, and catch a movie at the drive-in after dark.
Featured Spot
MTB Trails
The trails of Arthurs Seat State Park run down the hill and come out at Dromana, where the trailhead has a car park, a free pump track at Hillview Reserve, a general store, cafes and a handful of bike shops. It's a weekend ritual for riders, with 14 marked trails from easy to very difficult. Walkers should stick to the walking tracks rather than the MTB-only trails.
Beaches
The Foreshore
Calm bay beaches run along the foreshore, with the pier in the middle, a boat ramp at the Anthony's Nose headland, and a strip of cafes and restaurants across Point Nepean Road. Seasonal camping runs along the grass from December to April.
Eat & Drink
Dromana's foreshore strip is lined with cafes, restaurants and fish and chip shops across from the pier, with more at the foot of the MTB trails and tucked away in the industrial estate.
Wineries & Breweries
Jetty Road Brewery pours craft beer in the industrial estate, and cellar doors including Crittenden, Trofeo and Hickinbotham are all a short drive away.
Things to Do
Ride the Arthurs Seat trails, catch a movie at the heritage-listed drive-in, wander the gardens at Heronswood, or walk the Two Bays Walking Track up into the hills.
Accommodation
Dromana has a good spread of stays, from motels and holiday houses to the foreshore campground, with more in nearby McCrae and Safety Beach.
