About

Moorooduc

Moorooduc doesn't try to be a destination the way its coastal neighbours do — it's broad, quiet farmland running down the spine of the Peninsula, dotted with a handful of serious cellar doors and not much else. No main street, no shopfronts, just paddocks, vines and the odd gate marked private.

Home to some of the Peninsula's founding wineries, the Devilbend Reservoir flora and fauna reserve, and the Big Goose — about as far from a beach day as this region gets.

Wineries & Cellar Doors

Moorooduc was one of the Peninsula's founding wine districts, and it still produces some of its most respected drops. Moorooduc Estate, Jones Road, Phaedrus Estate and Barmah Park Wines all pour from cellar doors scattered along its back roads.

Things to Do

The Big Goose Adventure Park keeps the kids busy with farm animals and a jumping pillow, Devilbend Golf Club offers an 18-hole round through a flora and fauna reserve, and the reservoir reserve is good for a quiet walk. With a town this size, we've pulled in more from Tyabb and Tuerong close by.

Places to Stay

A few working farms open their gates for a night or two here — cottages and self-contained stays tucked behind the vines. For more choice, Red Hill and Tyabb aren't far up the road.
