About

Somerville

Right at the southern tip of the peninsula, Cape Schanck is less a town than a meeting point of cliff, lighthouse and open ocean. It's remote, wind-scoured and completely unlike the bay side, and that's exactly the appeal.

The 1859 lighthouse, the boardwalk down to Pulpit Rock, two famous golf courses and the long coastal walk to Bushrangers Bay make it worth a full day, or a night at the resort if you can manage it.

THings To Do

Blossom season on the Peninsula is short and spectacular. October and November bring stone fruit flowers, new-season asparagus, and the first tastings of the vintage — don't leave it too late.
