Arthurs Seat Summit

About the town

Arthurs Seat

At 314 metres, Arthurs Seat is the highest point on the Peninsula, and on a clear day the view from the top takes in nearly all of it — all the way to Portsea, across the bay to the city skyline, and over to St Andrews Beach.

A winding scenic road climbs to the summit with lookouts at every bend, and the state park around it fills the rest of the hill with walking and riding trails, gardens, and a surprising number of kangaroos.

Arthurs Seat State Park

Bushland, steep rocky ridges and lookouts cover the hill, with Seawinds Gardens at the top adding sculptures, lawns and more of that view. The kangaroos are the surprise — there are plenty, and they're so used to visitors that they just keep grazing as you walk past. No patting, but you'll get a closer look than you would at any roo in the wild, especially around the gardens and the trails nearby.

Things to Do

The Arthurs Seat Eagle gondola glides up to the summit, Enchanted Adventure Garden has the ziplines and treetop adventures, and Charlie's Auto Museum keeps the car lovers happy — all within minutes of each other. We've pulled in extras from nearby Dromana and Red Hill to round it out.
