About
Hastings
Hastings is the biggest town on this side of the peninsula, and it feels it — a proper commercial centre with supermarkets, a marina and a working foreshore, built around a crescent bay on Western Port.
Away from High Street it's mostly quiet suburban streets and a working industrial edge, but right along the water and down the main strip is where Hastings earns its keep as a stop worth making.
About the town
The High Street
Several blocks of cafes, restaurants and specialty shops run down High Street toward the water, Hastings' busiest and most walkable stretch. It's the kind of street you can spend a whole morning on without trying to.
Eat & Drink
From all-day breakfast spots to proper sit-down dinners, High Street carries most of the town's eating and drinking, with a few more tucked around the marina and foreshore.
The Foreshore
Where's the best fishing? When does parkrun start? Where do the boats moor? Hastings' waterfront, covered.
Fred Smith Reserve & The Jetty
Grassy open space runs along the water from the marina to the historic Hastings Jetty, with fitness stations, two playgrounds and a big leash-free area for dogs. Pelicans gather near the jetty most days, fed by local fishers, and the Hastings Foreshore parkrun sets off from here every Saturday at 8am.
Hastings Marina
One of the safest small-boat harbours on Western Port, sheltered and well used, sitting right alongside Warringine Park. A working marina as much as a scenic one, with moorings, a boat ramp and easy access out into the bay.
Pelican Park
Hastings' aquatic centre sits right by the pier, with lap pools, a kids' pool and a gym. The cafe out front, Pelikan Societe, is worth the visit on its own — indoor and outdoor seating looking straight out over the boats and the bay.
